Papar, April 23: The development of Benoni Commercial Centre (BCC) here will generate economic spin-offs and attractive returns for its investors following completion of the Pan Borneo Highway in 2019.
Comprising a total of 175 units of two and three-storey shoplots being constructed in three phase and 230 units of Benoni Gardens Apartment, the development would cover some 40 acres.
The Developer, WSG Properties Sdn Bhd Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong said the location of BCC is very strategic as it is situated adjacent to the Pan Borneo Highway and only three kilometres from the township here.
She said BCC investors would stand to benefit because the value of their properties would appreciate in time, especially after the much-anticipated Pan Borneo Highway is completed in two years.
“The BCC, when completed, will also have a shopping mall, a two-storey hypermarket, drive-thru fast food restaurant and a petrol station.” She said at the launching of BCC Phase 3 comprising 56 units of three-storey shoplots by State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Johnny Mositun at its sales office and show gallery, here, Sunday.
During the event, Mositun together with Wong also handed over keys to shopowners of the first two rows of BCC Phase 1 comprising 28 units of two-storey shoplots.
Wong also announced a RM50,000 donation to Papar Middle School located nearby for its new hostel building fund.
Also present were Wong’s mother Datin Seri Wong Chen Si Mui, Wong’s husband Datuk Wong Ten An, MCA Penampang Deputy Chief Datuk Paul Kong, Papar District Assistant District Officer (Administra-tion) AK Raimy Abd Rahman, Papar District Council Executive Officer Kusnadi Manuwar, Papar Police Public Order Chief ASP Fauzi Sahat and local community leaders.
Wong Said BCC Phase 1 had just obtained its Occupation Certificate (OC) while the remaining rows shall obtain its OC by next month.
According to Dato Susan Wong:
Today is the Official Launching of the Benoni Commercial Centre Phase ‘3’ & also the Key Handover to our Phase ‘1’ Buyers, of which the first 2 rows of phase ‘1’ has just been obtained OC, and the OC for the rest of the rows shall be obtain by next month. Today we are handing over keys for only the first 2 rows phase ‘1’ shoplots total of 28 units.
She also added:
Beside of 175 units of 2 & 3 storey shoplots, we have:
1) The Benoni Gardens Apartment providing 230 units of residential apartment with affordable price from RM238,000 onwards, which will provide accommodations to business operators and outstation students of Papar Middle School;
2) Upon completion, we will also have a shopping mall, a 2-storey supermarket, fast food restaurants drive-thru, and a petrol station.
“Phase 1 consists of 65 units of two-storey shoplots that are fully completed, while Phase 2 consist of 64 units of two-storey shoplots which are 50 per cent completed, with full completion by end of this year. The handing-over of keys for Phase 2 shoplots would be held during the Chinese New Year celebra-tion next year.
“Phase 3 which comprises 56 units of three-storey shoplots will be completed in 2019. With a special incentive today (Sunday) for prospective buyers, we are pleased that almost 50 per cent of the units have been booked,” she said.
Beside of the shoplots, Wong said the development project also has the Benoni Gardens Apartment at affordable prices that will be completed in 2019 and provide accommodation to business operators and outstation students of Papar Middle School.
Meanwhile, Mositun who is also Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Pantai Manis Division head, said the development of BCC, when fully completed, would provide ample job opportunities to the locals.
He described the project as another success for the district as it will render development to the people here and boost their socio-economic activities.
