UMLand drives growth in Johor with its latest completed development: Suasana Iskandar Malaysia

November 19, JOHOR BAHRU – United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand), an award-winning property developer with more than 20 years of experience in the property sector, announced the completion of Suasana Iskandar Malaysia, the newest upmarket integrated commercial development.

Strategically located in the bustling city centre of Johor Bahru with close proximity to transportation hubs, Suasana Iskandar Malaysia comprises of Zenith Lifestyle Centre, the first lifestyle hub in Johor City Centre (JBCC); Suasana Iskandar Malaysia, the first and only residential development in JBCC, and the luxurious Amari Johor Bahru, an international hotel brand under the Onyx Hospitality Group.

“As one of the pioneer developers in Iskandar Malaysia, we are proud to provide Johor Bahru residents with the complete lifestyle experiences through Suasana Iskandar Malaysia. In line with the Johor Bahru Transformation Plan which is aimed at making Johor Bahru one of the most liveable cities in the future, Suasana Iskandar Malaysia will not only enhance the surrounding infrastructures of JBCC, but will also act as a catalyst to encourage intra-city activities between Johor and Singapore. With its close proximity to JB Sentral and Johor Immigration Complex, Suasana Iskandar Malaysia is more than ready to play its part to grow Johor Bahru into a vibrant metropolis within the southern corridor,” said Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman of UMLand.

Pioneer in SMART living at the integrated commercial development

Located along Jalan Wong Ah Fook and Jalan Trus, the integrated commercial development enables communities to have a better quality of life without complete dependence on cars for mobility. The communities are centred around various transportations with walkable distances to the CIQ complex, bus terminals, the upcoming Bukit Chagar Rapid Transit System (RTS) station and the Ibrahim International Business District (IIBD).

The 1.42-acres freehold development is also the first in JBCC to introduce SMART living concept, which combines integrated technology with premium lifestyle to give residents the best of both worlds within easily accessible vicinity. In partnership with UMLand and Samsung, each Suasana residential unit is equipped with revolutionary smart home features that allow residents to take control of their homes’ securities, entertainment and energy management with just a tap on their mobile phones. To date, more than 70% of the residential units have been sold since it was first launched in 2013. The sizes of the units range from 644 square feet to 1,235 square feet, which are priced from RM 1,100 per square feet. In conjunction with the completion of Suasana Iskandar Malaysia, interested buyers will now be able to view the brand new contemporary style of the show unit. Viewing is available by appointment only.

The rise of the first lifestyle centre in JBCC

Located at the international zone which spreads over a span of 70,000 square feet, Zenith Lifestyle Centre is the latest lifestyle and entertainment hub in JBCC. Drawing on the city’s potential consumer growth, Zenith aims to become the new thriving hotspot that will bring leisure and lifestyle to greater heights in southern Malaysia.

With the current take-up rate at 80%, Zenith has something for everyone to unwind themselves day and night according to their lifestyle demands with its existing and upcoming various F&B and retail outlets. In efforts to strengthen Zenith’s position as the most vibrant entertainment hub in Johor Bahru, UMLand will continue to carefully select tenants that are able to provide a different atmosphere and experience for all.

UMLand’s commitment to turning Johor into a high-value regional tourism destination

With more than 16 million tourists a year visiting Johor, UMLand aims to further strengthen the tourism in Johor through its Suasana Iskandar Malaysia development, alongside its future plans to grow Johor into a vibrant metropolis. In collaboration with Tourism Johor and MITA (Malaysia Inbound Travel Association), Amari Johor Bahru and Suasana Iskandar Malaysia is the official designated point for trishaw services in JBCC effective 1 November 2017. The trishaw service is a new tourist attraction which is aimed to encourage tourists to ride and enjoy the views of the beautiful city.

Aside from that, UMLand has also embarked on a partnership with Miss CosmoWorld 2017, an international beauty pageant which hosts contestants from over 20 countries around the world. UMLand has played an essential role in sponsoring key locations as part of the pageant’s journey to showcase the state’s offerings and attractions as the next tourism destination and preferred investment hub. In addition, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, UMLand and Miss CosmoWorld have raised a total of RM 30,000 for Persatuan Kebajikan Mesra Megah Ria Johor Bahru, a registered non-profit charity home for children with physical and learning disabilities and those who come from underprivileged backgrounds. The initiative is also driven with hopes to creating a better future for those who are less fortunate and would potentially be able to contribute to the growth of Johor in the years to come.
