26 OCTOBER, SHAH ALAM – S P Setia’s D’Network @ Setia Eco Park in Setia Alam has been awarded the Silver award in the Commercial (Low Rise) category of PAM Awards 2021 by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) on October 2.

D’Network was awarded for its energy conservation measures in place for its small scale and self sufficient F&B outlets that are nestled in greenery. It was also commended for its light effects at the musical fountain and how the lake and park create a focal point for the project.

“The team is elated that D’Network @ Setia Eco Park has received the award and is recognised for its self-sufficiency. The F&B hub and musical fountain are powered by solar energy – a cleaner and more sustainable energy source compared to traditional power supply,” said Dato’ Seri Koe Peng Kang, S P Setia’s Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer.

D’Network @ Setia Eco Park is the world’s first solar powered F&B hub and houses the world’s first solar powered musical fountain.

D’Network is the world’s first solar powered hybrid F&B hub which uses a 207kWp solar power system in replacement of traditional electricity from grid supply. It also has the world’s first solar powered musical fountain named the ‘Symphony of Sustainability’ which is the centrepiece of the project especially when lit up in the evening.

The sustainable elements of D’Network were designed in alignment to S P Setia’s overall sustainability journey and ESG framework whereby the aim is to develop sustainable projects that are in harmony with nature in effort to conserve natural resources and reduce environmental footprint.

D’Network @ Setia Eco Park has been awarded the Silver award in the Commercial (Low Rise) category of PAM Awards 2021 by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM).

The master-planning of D’Network took into consideration those factors of sustainability by utilising a renewable energy source like solar energy which is more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. It provides power not only to the F&B hub and musical fountain, but also to the event lawn, summer garden, petanque court, playground and pet-friendly park. The solar power is also used for D’Network’s solar-powered microbial compression technology which turns food waste from the F&B outlets into bio compost which is used to fertilise plants around the premise.

As D’Network is located close to the Bukit Cerakah forest reserve, patrons here can enjoy spending time in an environment that is 1˚C to 2˚C cooler during early mornings and evenings.

Standing on 3.16 acres of land, D’Network @ Setia Eco Park brings communities from Setia Alam and surrounding neighbourhoods together with its welcoming spaces to dine, shop and play. It hosts a curated collection of restaurants and cafés, a grocer, communal spaces for outdoor activities and amenities that meet lifestyle needs.
