22 OCTOBER, JOHOR BAHRU – Integrated industrial space solutions provider AME Elite Consortium Berhad (AME, the Group, 腾宇集团, Bloomberg: AME:MK; Reuters: AMEE.KL) secured a RM359 million contract from Ye Chiu Non-Ferrous Metal (M) Sdn Bhd (Ye Chiu) to construct its new integrated production facility, logistics warehouse and office building in Tanjung Langsat Industrial Area, Johor.
Under the Letter of Award, AME Construction Sdn Bhd will build four blocks of production facility with logistics warehouses, together with offices and ancillary buildings with total built-up area of approximately 2.55 million square feet. The new blocks will complement Ye Chiu’s existing production facility in Tanjung Langsat Industrial Area.
The project duration is expected to be about 18 months, commencing on 3 November 2021 and to be completed by 2 May 2023. Ye Chiu’s history in Malaysia started in 1984, with the manufacturing and trading of aluminium alloy and aluminium scrap products. Ye Chiu is an indirect wholly owned Malaysian subsidiary of Ye Chiu Metal Recycling (China) Ltd, a company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with presence in China, Malaysia, and the United States.
The new job award underscores AME’s ability to undertake construction for heavy industries and support the expansion of multinational companies in Malaysia. AME recommenced operations at all worksites as at October 2021, as government mandated activity restrictions on various industries were lifted, and is supported by a fully vaccinated workforce.
