KUALA LUMPUR, 7 April 2026 – TA Global officially opened the Damansara Avenue Link Bridge today, marking the completion of a 320-metre elevated pedestrian walkway linking Sri Damansara Sentral MRT Station to Damansara Avenue. The opening ceremony, held at the bridge site, was officiated by Dato’ Hj. Mohamad Zahri bin Hj. Samingon, Mayor of Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
“The opening of the Damansara Avenue Link Bridge marks another significant step toward strengthening a more efficient and inclusive urban mobility network in Petaling Jaya. Initiatives like this not only improve access to public transport but also support our efforts in creating a more sustainable, pedestrian-friendly, and transit-oriented urban environment. MBPJ greatly welcomes close collaboration with the private sector, such as TA Global, in delivering infrastructure development that directly benefits the well-being of the community,” said Dato’ Hj. Mohamad Zahri.
Following the completion of all required approvals, the MRT link bridge is now operational. As part of its initial phase, the link bridge will serve pedestrian access only. This opening improves connectivity within Damansara Avenue and enhances access to the MRT, providing greater convenience for commuters and residents while supporting a more walkable, transit-oriented environment.
The project also features a covered pedestrian walkway leading to the MRT link bridge, offering a sheltered, comfortable route for foot traffic and ensuring a seamless last-mile journey. Together, these additions strengthen mobility throughout the wider precinct and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The bridge’s operations will further expand in subsequent phases as Damansara Avenue continues to develop and its internal road network matures.
The infrastructure connects directly to the citywide public transport network. As part of the MRT Putrajaya Line, the Sri Damansara Sentral station provides direct access to key destinations across Greater Kuala Lumpur, including Ampang Park, Persiaran KLCC, the Tun Razak Exchange, Serdang, Cyberjaya, and Putrajaya. It also links to the Sungai Buloh interchange, enabling smooth transfers to the MRT Kajang Line and across the Klang Valley.
The strong regional connectivity reflects the broader vision for Damansara Avenue, a 48-acre award-winning mixed-use masterplan. It actively supports Ativo Annexe, a key 15-acre phase within the development with a gross development value of RM3 billion. This phase brings together residential, commercial, hospitality, retail, and wellness components within a cohesive ecosystem. The pedestrian network is also planned to extend towards DA Central Mall upon its completion in 2028, further strengthening Damansara Avenue’s position as a fully integrated, transit-oriented destination.
“The Damansara Avenue Link Bridge marks an important milestone in our ambition to create a more seamless and connected Damansara Avenue. It strengthens the relationship between public transit and the surrounding urban environment, enabling greater ease of movement for the local community,” said Datin Alicia Tiah, Managing Director of TA Enterprise. “This demonstrates our commitment as a master developer to deliver integrated environments that enhance quality of life through improved accessibility, connectivity, and everyday convenience.”
The construction of the bridge required careful technical discipline. At a total construction cost of RM18 million, the build spanned 18 months, crossing intersections of major arterial routes, including the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Jalan Kuala Selangor, and the Duta– Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) 2. The site’s inherent complexities within a busy urban corridor demanded highly specific engineering and design responses. TA Global will maintain the bridge going forward, ensuring it remains a reliable, well-maintained public asset for years to come.
“A link bridge like this goes beyond convenience. It improves access, makes the journey smoother, and encourages greater use of public transport in everyday life. This leads to reduced congestion, more efficient movement across the city, and a more sustainable urban environment. It is how infrastructure becomes a value multiplier, creating impact beyond its immediate footprint. Ultimately, what we are building goes beyond infrastructure. It is about enhancing mobility and enriching the communities we serve,” said Mr. Shahrin Imran, Chief of Business and Chief Financial Officer, MRT Corp.
Now open to the public, the Damansara Avenue Link Bridge affirms the masterplan’s continued evolution as a well-connected destination shaped by long-term placemaking. TA Global remains committed to working closely with partners and supporting stakeholders to deliver thoughtful spaces and environments that respond meaningfully to how people live, work, and move.
