Soma Sundram

Soma Sundram is a distinguished figure in Malaysia's real estate industry, with a career spanning over 39 years. His journey began in 1987 with SK Brothers Realty, where he rose to the position of General Manager of Sales & Marketing, overseeing six branches and more than 500 sales personnel. During his tenure, he pioneered project marketing in Malaysia, notably spearheading the Salesmasters programme, the country's first project marketing team.

In 1997, Soma established his own firm, Soma Sun Realty, marking a significant milestone in his entrepreneurial journey. Under his leadership, the firm exclusively marketed and sold 1,900 units of Ritze Perdana 1 & 2 in Damansara Perdana. Throughout his career, he has consulted and marketed over 70 projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Soma's contributions extend beyond sales. He has been instrumental in training and mentoring real estate professionals, having trained over 250,000 individuals since 1987. His commitment to professional development is further exemplified by his role in developing the Negotiators Certification Course (NCC) syllabus for the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVAEAP). 

In leadership roles, Soma served as the President of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) from 2007 to 2009, during which he introduced the MIEA National Real Estate Awards (NREA) in 2008. He also played a pivotal role in acquiring MIEA's headquarters building. In 2018, he was appointed as the first CEO of MIEA, further solidifying his influence in the industry.

Soma's achievements have been recognized through various accolades, including the MIEA National Real Estate Leadership (Lifetime Achievement) Award in 2013 and the BOVAEAP's Estate Agent of the Year award in 2016. He is also a Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents and the founding Secretary General of the ASEAN Real Estate Network Alliance (ARENA), promoting regional collaboration among real estate professionals. 

Currently, Soma continues to contribute to the industry as the Corporate Strategic Advisor of IQI Realty Sdn Bhd, where he leverages his extensive experience to guide strategic initiatives.
