SKS Group collaborates with IHG to debut Holiday Inn in Johor Bahru

318-room Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre will be amongst the few internationally branded hotels in the downtown area.

20 December, JOHOR BAHRU – SKS Group through its member company, SKS Hotel Residences and Resorts Sdn. Bhd. has inked a hotel management agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, for the first Holiday Inn hotel in Johor Bahru City Centre.

The 318-key Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre will be part of the existing Komtar JBCC mixed-use development. Situated in the city’s downtown core, leisure guests can look forward to an array of shopping, dining and entertainment options which are just a quick stroll away. These include the Komtar JBCC and Johor Bahru City Square shopping malls and the Angry Birds Activity Park. The hotel will also be connected to the Persada Johor International Convention Centre via the future Persada
Link Bridge, offering convenience for corporate and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions) delegates.

Being merely 30 kilometres away from the Senai International Airport, Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre will offer convenient access to international travellers as well as visitors from neighbouring Singapore with its close proximity to the Johor Bahru Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex (CIQ) and the upcoming Singapore-Johor Bahru Rapid Transit System (RTS) link.

As one of the first hotels in Johor Bahru to offer internationally branded mid-scale accommodation, Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre will be equipped with six meeting rooms, a business centre, as well as an outdoor pool and gym for guests to enjoy their downtime. It will also feature an all-day dining restaurant and a lounge offering the Holiday Inn brand’s signature Kids Stay and Eat Free programme, where kids under the age of 12 can stay and dine for free.

Rajit Sukumaran, Chief Development Officer AMEA, IHG said: “Johor Bahru holds enormous economic potential that is fuelled by its strong connectivity to Singapore – with heightened visitor influx expected with the completion of the Singapore-Johor Bahru Rapid Transit System in 2024.
