Southville City’s Interchange will enhance connectivity for almost 69,000 future residents of Southville City and the surrounding community.

26 March, KL SOUTH – Mah Sing Group’s (Mah Sing) Southville City Interchange is targeted to open in mid-April 2018, providing almost 69,000 future residents of the award-winning township with enhanced accessibility into and from the KL-Seremban Expressway (which forms part of the North-South Expressway). With Southville City’s new interchange, the township is only 19km to Kuala Lumpur via the KL-Seremban Expressway.
This was announced during the soft launch of the interchange which was attended by Minister of Works, YB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadhillah bin Haji Yusof accompanied by Mah Sing’s Chairman, Jen. Tan Sri Yaacob bin. Mat Zain (R), Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum, Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang as well as Mah Sing’s senior management team and government officials.
Construction of the interchange began on 13 September 2016 and it is currently undergoing final rounds of safety checks before its targeted opening in mid-April 2018.
The interchange is located at Exit 212A Southville City of the KL-Seremban Expressway which comprises an ingress and egress that is approximately 1.2km from the Expressway’s exit. The interchange will connect to Jalan Kajang – Dengkil on the Southern side of Southville City via main roads inside the township. This will provide a new access for traffic coming from Dengkil and Putrajaya, alleviating traffic at the Bangi interchange exit (Exit 212).
Southville City’s interchange will have a 14 lane toll (8 ingress tolls and 6 egress tolls) equipped with 6 Touch & Go lanes, 4 Smart Tag lanes and 4 multi class lanes. The 6 Touch & Go lanes come with Radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems and all 14 tolls are RFID ready for future utilization. Southville City’s toll operates on a closed toll system and can only be accessed via the KL-Seremban Expressway.
YB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadhillah bin Haji Yusof said, “Southville City, complemented by the new interchange demonstrates the commitment of Mah Sing to help elevate the quality of life of Malaysians. It advances the needs of the people which is in line with the Government’s mission and vision to ease the burden of the people. The interchange will not only benefit the residents of Southville City, but will also serve the nearly 1.15million population in Bangi, Kajang, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Semenyih, Dengkil and Nilai combined.”
Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum said “Southville City’s interchange is not just a value proposition; we want our residents to experience significant ease in travelling in and out of the township. Infrastructure investment is important for a location to thrive and we want to bridge the distance between Southville City and KL City making it a more accessible suburb. The opening of the interchange is timely as we are currently handing over our Avens Residence 2 ½ storey and 3 storey link homes and will be handing over Vacant Possession of 3,192 units of Savanna Executive Suites from today onwards. As such, almost 15,800 people will be able to benefit from the opening of the interchange.”
Southville City’s interchange will also significantly reduce the driving distance to neighbouring districts such as Dengkil, Sepang, Semenyih, Bangi, by approximately 6km if compared to the current access via Bangi exit (Exit 212) and 4km for North bound via Putra Mahkota exit (Exit 213).
