November 15, KUALA LUMPUR – Property developer, Mah Sing Group Berhad (KLSE: MAHSING) and world leader in lighting, Philips Lighting, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a strategic partnership in developing smart lighting systems to be packaged with Mah Sing’s residential units. The strategic alliance entails Philips Lighting to be Mah Sing’s technical advisors on the lighting requirements in specific projects. The scope will include consultation and implementation of products, design, illumination, energy efficiency, and other aspects of lighting.

As a first step of the partnership, Caspia which are double storey cluster homes within Mah Sing’s M Residence 2 in Rawang would be enabled with smart technology powered by Philips Lighting’s latest range of connected lighting products, Philips Hue. Philips Hue is a personal wireless lighting solution that lets users control their connected lights from anywhere in the world using a smart device.

Caspia will be one of the first projects in Malaysia that has implemented pre-installed smart-lighting solutions in the ready-to-move-in houses. These lighting systems can be personalised through custom settings and program timers through home owners’ personal mobile devices. Easily compatible with most platforms, the lighting system communicates through voice commands with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Nest, and Apple HomeKit.

Mah Sing Group’s Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang said, “Caspia @ M Residence 2 will be the one of the first in Malaysia to showcase the Philips Hue System offering pre-installed smart lighting technology and convenience to our home buyers.  We have been in Rawang since 2012 with a total of 480 acres of township presence and the Caspia cluster homes is our premium range targeted at upgraders.
