Mah Sing foundation donates RM1million to Baiti Jannati@Wilayah Persekutuan programme to enable disadvantaged families in KL to own their own home

Kuala Lumpur – Some lower income families living in People’s Housing Project (PPR M-TEN) and KL City Hall Public Housing (PA) could not even afford having a bed to sleep at night. Aiming to provide comfortable living conditions for selected disadvantaged families, Mah Sing Foundation (MSF) is supporting Baiti Jannati@Wilayah Persekutuan programme to refurbish their homes with new wardrobes, beds, kitchen and other necessary living essentials.

MSF donated a total of RM1million to Badan Amal Kasih Ibu Wilayah Persekutuan (WP) to support their Baiti Jannati@Wilayah Persekutuan Programme. MSF’s Chairman, Dato’ Indera Syed Norulzaman bin Syed Kamarulzaman and Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum represented MSF to present a mock cheque to Minister of Federal Territories, Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan bin Tengku Mansor and Badan Amal Kasih Ibu WP’s President Datin Seri Utama Datuk Anggraini Sentiyaki.

The RM1million contribution will be used to repair and refurbish the homes of disadvantaged families. Necessary living essentials such as laminated flooring, wardrobe, bed and kitchen cabinet will be provided. The contribution will also assist in settling the outstanding housing loans of selected families living in People’s Housing Project (PPR M-TEN) and KL City Hall Public Housing (PA). Mah Sing has successfully enabled numerous disadvantaged families to own their own home.

The programme is also supported by the Ministry of Federal Territories and DBKL as it aims to improve the livelihood of those living in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. Minister of Federal Territories, Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Adnan said, “We believe the Baiti Jannati@Wilayah Persekutuan Programme is a very good project which will bring a lot of benefits for needy people living within Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. It will lessen their worries about having proper accommodations, thus enabling them to focus on other things which will help to improve their lives. After all, we want all KL-ites to be able to own a home and live comfortably within the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur.”

Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum said, “Staying true to our goal, which is to enable everyone to own a home, we have always worked towards building affordably priced homes with good facilities for the comfort and enjoyment of our buyers. To date, Mah Sing has 22 projects in Kuala Lumpur. Aside from developing good projects for homebuyers, we also want to give back to the society and aid those in need. When we came to know of the Baiti Jannati@Wilayah Persekutuan Programme by Badan Amal Kasih Ibu WP, we realised that this is a very good platform where we support to aid the needy ones.”

Mah Sing Foundation’s Chairman, Dato’ Indera Syed Norulzaman bin Syed Kamarulzaman also said, “We applaud the work that was done by Badan Amal Kasih Ibu WP as the organisation puts the best interest of the needy ones at heart. Working together with the Ministry of Federal Territories and DBKL, the programme aims to elevate the living conditions of the less fortunate within Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur. The programme’s objective is to provide a comfortable shelter, especially to single parents, underprivileged senior citizens and the disabled.”

Dato’ Indera Syed further added that this programme is in line with two of Mah Sing Foundation’s three new key pillars in aiding the unfortunate which are enhancing the health & well-being and community development. “By enabling the needy families to own their home, we are able to enhance their well-being by providing comfortable living conditions. With this, children will have a more secured living environment and be able to focus on education while adults can work towards improving the lives of their families. This will in turn contribute to community development.”
