Koong Wai Seng is Sunsuria Berhad''s New CEO

Selangor, 23 May – Sunsuria announced today that Koong Wai Seng, currently the Deputy CEO and Executive Director has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sunsuria Berhad. Koong will succeed Ho Hon Sang, who will then undertake the advisory role to the founder and Executive Chairman of Sunsuria Berhad.

“Hon Sang has been instrumental in realizing the vision of Sunsuria and we are grateful for his in-depth property industry experience and network in leading the team and he will continue to be an invaluable resource as the advisor”, said Datuk Ter Leong Yap.

“Wai Seng is a proven leader with strong business vision and ability to bring people together from all levels. He is also very passionate and highly committed to the company mission and core values, said Datuk Ter.

“Sunsuria is a fast-growing company in the property arena, under the great leadership of Datuk Ter alongside with a team of dedicated and talented professionals,” said Koong Wai Seng. “I am truly excited to undertake this key role in driving the Group’s vision and mission, while at the same time we continue to deliver more milestones with quality products and services.”

Koong holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from University of Malaya and he is also a member of the Malaysia Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

He began his career in Arthur Anderson & Co and has more than 20 years of experience in variety of industry including audit, financial advisory, retail, theme park, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, property development and property investment.

Since joining the company in May 2013, he has spearheaded major strategies in key financial and general management decisions across the company’s portfolio of products and services which include leading the role as the CEO of the Sunsuria Medini project in Johor Bahru, the CEO of Sunsuria City, the smart township development project surrounding the Xiamen Malaysia University Campus in Salak Tinggi, Putrajaya South.
