KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — EcoFirst Consolidated Bhd (EcoFirst) plans to launch an enhanced masterplan for its Ampang township, since its landbank in Ampang is a beneficiary of the Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 (MRT3) development.
EcoFirst alternative director Datuk Kenneth Teoh Seng Kian said the MRT3 development is a game-changer for the company as properties situated near the MRT stations will appreciate in value.
“As a property developer, we will also do our part in creating job opportunities and stimulating the economy.
“Our new masterplan will be more comprehensive as we intend to transform Ampang to become a sought-after and fully self-sufficient premium township,” he said in a statement today.
The masterplan will be unveiled in the second quarter of 2022 (Q2 2022), said Teoh, adding that the original plan for the Ampang project had an estimated gross development value (GDV) of more than RM4 billion.
EcoFirst’s landbank in Ampang is some 300 metres away from the future Hill View station under the proposed MRT3 plan.
On March 4, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the construction of the MRT3 has been approved.
The preliminary plan for the MRT3 will include 30 stations, where 10 of them are MRT interchange stations, light rail transit (LRT) and KTM Komuter lines.
