
Penang, 6 August 2023 – Hunza Properties Group brought more than just double happiness in an evening filled with joyous reveals. The Founder and Executive Advisor of the Group, Dato’ Seri Khor Teng Tong, capped off his 84th birthday celebration with a special announcement to the staff before the Group launched its “Hunza DoubleUp Campaign【家】倍幸福” — a year-long programme that rewards homebuyers with prizes worth up to RM2 million.

In his birthday address to media partners and staff, Dato’ Seri Khor shared his insights on the state of the property industry, reflecting on the impact of global economic shifts, ongoing tariff situations, an increasingly competitive business landscape, and the fragile sentiment within the buyers’ market. Despite these challenges, he expressed optimism in the Group’s ability to weather this transitional phase, thanks to its experienced team of professionals and deep-rooted industry knowledge.
To mark a milestone in their financial year, Dato’ Seri Khor announced a special incentive worth RM1.5 million as a token of appreciation for the Group’s staff, recognising their commitment and support.
“I would like to take this chance to thank the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and our staff for their tremendous work over the past year, which enabled us to achieve our collective intended target,” said Dato’ Seri Khor.
The Group’s Executive Director, Ms. Khor Tze Ming, in her speech delivered on behalf of the Group Managing Director Dato’ Khor Siang Gin, added to the Founder’s address:
“The scale of PICC’s development by a single developer is unprecedented here in Penang. When we complete the commercial hub in the next few years, we will have only unlocked 54% of the total land’s potential. It reflects the ambition we have for this landmark development of ours.”
She further noted:
“However, we would also like to raise the concern of the escalating cost of doing business, which continues to put pressure on developers. It’s important that our stakeholders share in the awareness of this reality, and we remain transparent about the business dynamics we are navigating in today’s landscape.”
