#1 Ride on the world’s highest Ferris wheel
Was riding the Iconic London Eye an item on your to-do list? I mean, who wouldn’t want to live through an experience that combines staggering, breathtaking views with the romance of a Ferris wheel ride, right?
It just hits you right in the feels, guys.
Well, you will be able to replicate that experience here and so much more in Malaysia by 2021. The M101 development will feature its very own Ferris Wheel, to be built on the 53rd floor, at 220 metres above ground level. This impressive vantage point, set to be a global record for the highest Ferris wheel, will provide M101 visitors with 360° unobstructed views of the of the KL city skyline.
M101’s uniquely designed Ferris wheel will resemble a giant watch; its frontage will have a monumental 60-metre HD LED screen that will be visible hundreds of miles away. How cool is that, eh. Best of all, this engineering feat is imagined and will be constructed by the same team who built the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer; guaranteeing a unique experience while you take in the spectacular scenery.
#2 Spend a night at Asia’s first Planet Hollywood Hotel
The first Planet Hollywood Hotel in Asia is set to make its debut in M101 and will be built in the top half of Tower A, spanning 26 floors. An epitome of Hollywood style and glamour, the hotel brings to life your red-carpet fantasies.
Each hotel room and suite will feature authentic movie artefacts and rare memorabilia from famous Hollywood films, allowing you to slip into the shoes of a Hollywood A-lister. The hotel will also house the famous Planet Hollywood cafe, a theme restaurant inspired by the popular portrayal of Hollywood.
In the meantime, I’m gonna practise my movie-star strut.#watchoutHollywood
Planet Hollywood is a renowned restaurant and events group headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The company’s biggest product in its portfolio is the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas resort and casino, where the 37-storey resort stands 122 meters tall and comprises 2,500 rooms, each dedicated to a certain movie.
#3 Dine 200m above ground at the world’s highest luxurious Sky Retail Mall
If you are a foodie and a thrill seeker who loves heights, M101’s Sky Retail Mall, which is located 200 ft above ground will probably be the most enticing draw for you. Imagine dining at exclusive F&B outlets while soaking up the best city skyline views KL has to offer.
There’s no need to go skydiving anymore for the thrill of it!
Also, shopaholics will have a field day
Gunning for another first, the M101 Sky Retail Mall will clinch the world’s highest shopping mall title upon completion – it will feature over 200,000 sq ft of retail space, shopaholics will have a field day for sure. Situated just below the Ferris wheel, the mall will extend from the 48th to 52nd floor of the development, bisecting the two residential towers as shown in the artist’s impression below:
FUN FACT: When the M101 Skywheel lights are switched on at night, lights from the 52nd floor and below will form an “M” while the lights on the Skywheel and between the two towers will form “101” – a unique show of resemblance to the company’s name.
#4 Own (or rent) a Porsche-inspired suite & live out your fast and furious fantasy
Attention, car enthusiasts – What if we say you could own your very own luxury residence designed by Studio F. A. Porsche, the design company who conceptualised the luxury Porsche cars?
Yaaas – Point me in the right direction!

The German-based outfit aims to create premium yet holistic living experiences for M101’s residents and will be translating their famous design philosophy into the crafting of these suites. All units feature smart home solutions and will come equipped with high-tech appliances such as the “magic” television set, where the screens blend in with the wall panel and are not distinguishable until activated by remote.

The entire kitchen area can be closed off to be transformed into a bar setup too and residents can play around with adjustable mood lighting that is connected to a smart home automation system. It doesn’t stop there – All 94 units boast a display panel for handbags, a concealed bed, concealed watch display, private lift lobby and a coffee machine. The Design Suites’ owners are privy to various facilities such as an infinity pool, gym relaxation terrace and sauna on the 78th floor.
FOR STUDIO F. A. PORSCHE, “Design is not simply art, it is elegance of function”. This is the first time the studio, founded by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the grandson of the founder of Porsche and designer of the famous Porsche 911 car, has ventured into designing a mixed development.
