Starting a new organic food diet but don’t know where to start? Here are some organic shops in the Klang Valley to help you kickstart your organic food journey.
Malaysians everywhere love their daily dose of nasi lemak and roti canai for breakfast but maybe it’s time to change old habits and look into organic food alternatives for our long-term health. Eating organic foods means consuming food products that are as natural as possible. This means no artificial fertilisers, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, or GMO ingredients.
Adopting an organic product lifestyle is also a great way to help preserve and protect our planet. Toxic pesticides could lead to groundwater pollution and soil erosion. Being part of the organic movement also means you’re supporting organic companies’ sustainable practices in packaging and energy saving.
In Malaysia, demand for organic foods and organic products has steadily grown over the years. In a Rakuten Insight survey, 45% of Malaysians polled said they were willing to pay up to 25% more for organic foods compared to conventionally grown foods.
Here are a few organic shops that we found that may help you in your organic food journey.

1. BMS Organics

BMS Organics is a pioneer in Malaysia when it comes to organic foods and products. It was established in 1997 by three brothers: Dr KB Lee, KF Lee and Terry Lee in USJ 9 Subang Jaya. Dr KB Lee was a surgeon in Taiwan during the early 1990s and realised the equal importance of natural foods to modern medicine.
After seeing the improvement that their grandmother made in eight months after consuming organic products produced in Taiwan, the Lee brothers began linking the importance of diets to good health and many major illnesses. They made it their goal to raise awareness to the public about the importance of caring for the environment and dietary knowledge.
From being a small family-run business, they’ve grown to be one of Malaysia’s most successful companies that support healthy organic living. There are now more than 41 BMS Organics outlets and 21 BMS Organics Vegetarian Cafés. You can shop online for various organic products, plus they deliver internationally too.

3. Zenxin Organic Food Malaysia
ZENXIN Organic began its story with Mr Tai Kok Kong and 500 chickens in 1999. He found himself with a lot more compost than he bargained for, knowing the harmful effects of dumping chicken manure and polluting the ground. Together with his son, Mr Tai Seng Yee, ZENXIN Organic now has operations in Malaysia, Singapore, and China. They’ve aligned their business to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals framework.
Their online store offers a wide variety of organic foods and products. They also have a monthly subscription box packed with certified organic foods that changes according to the season and stock availability. It is packed fresh on the morning before it is sent out for delivery.

Don’t be thrown off by the prices of organic foods and products. They are generally more expensive than their non-organic counterparts because they are more labour intensive – farmers do not use pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, or antibiotics on their produce. Plus, organic farm operations are smaller compared to conventional farms.
It’s best to switch to healthier organic food alternatives and support these stores as it is not only beneficial for your long-term health, but it is good for the planet too.
