Silk Residence is comparatively one of the older developments in Cheras. It is a freehold project by Cheras Hong Soon Development, who as their name suggests, has built many homes and high rises in Cheras. Completed in the year 2014, Silk Residence is a mixed development of serviced residences, offices, and shop lots.The residential component of Silk Residence houses a total of 605 serviced apartment units within a single tower, making it a medium-density development. The building is 30-storey tall and caters to small and medium-sized families. Its units are sized between 942 sq ft and 2,182 sq ft, which all come with 3-bedroom and 2-bathroom. The penthouse units are more luxuriously sized at between 4,147 sq ft and 4,183 sq ft.Residents of Silk Residence have the benefit of enjoying a few well thought out facilities, including a clubhouse, sky lounge, swimming pool, and wading pool. There is also a gymnasium and a cafe within the grounds, as well as a multipurpose hall and playground for family activities.Silk Residence is an ideal home for families thanks to its central location in a mature neighbourhood. There are several nearby train stations including the Bukit Dukung MRT, Batu Sebelas Cheras MRT, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn MRT, Sri Raya MRT, and the Sungai Jernih MRT. Via these stations, residents will be able to get around the city and the Klang Valley conveniently.There are also numerous healthcare facilities close to home in case medical attention is required. These include the Desa Balakong Clinic and Desa Sungai Sekamat Clinic. For more serious medical requirements, the Columbia Asia Hospital is also within the neighbourhood.Silk Residence is a family-oriented development which comes with an affordable price tag. While the development has not experienced much capital growth, it is popular in the rental market for the quality of the building and its central location.
