UEM Sunrise Launches Mayfair In Melbourne, Designed By Zaha Hadid

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 July 2017 – UEM Sunrise Berhad (“UEM Sunrise” or the “Company”), one of Malaysia’s leading property developers, has launched its third Melbourne project – Mayfair, at White Box in Publika, Kuala Lumpur.

Located in Melbourne’s most eminent boulevard at 412 St Kilda Road, the project with a Gross Development Value of approximately RM1.1 billion, pushes the boundaries in terms of ultra-luxurious living, offering bespoke experiences for sophisticated apartment dwellers with private lift lobbies, car valet system and custom designed signature Zaha Hadid pieces.

UEM Sunrise’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib commented, “To continue UEM Sunrise’s prodigious presence in Melbourne, following our two successful developments; Aurora Melbourne Central and Conservatory that are redefining the Melbourne CBD’s skylines, we wanted to create the next landmark with an equally innovative and spectacular development that redefines luxury.  We are extremely excited to launch Mayfair with internationally acclaimed Zaha Hadid Architects and Australian-based design and architecture practice Elenberg Fraser.

“Luxury was once the ornate idea of ornamental embellishments, the adornment of space and the display of wealth and ostentation, but this concept is changing – today luxury is less about material objects and more about unique experiences, personalisation and a sense of place. Mayfair exudes that next level of elegance appealing to the most discerning buyers who wish to be a part of a living, breathing piece of Zaha Hadid artistic legacy on Melbourne’s most premium boulevard,” he added. Patrik Schumacher, Principal and Director of Zaha Hadid Architects said, “We are honoured to be working with UEM Sunrise and presenting our first collaboration in Melbourne. The fluidity within the beautiful Australian landscape has defined the geometries of the building’s sculpted façade, which are carried through to the interiors and celebrate the finest attention to detail. The experience begins from the main entrance and continues right through every apartment – each with their own unique views.”

Chief Operating Officer, Commercial of UEM Sunrise, Raymond Cheah highlighted, “Mayfair offers a new lifestyle unseen in Melbourne yet.  The carefully considered and capacious floor spaces offers ultimate comfort and enjoyment to the residents.  We paid elaborated attention in the space planning – even the simplest features like a his-and-hers side of the walk-in-robe and laundry room are purposefully designed.  We did not take seemingly trivial items for granted if these meant that the residents’ living experiences are elevated.”
