30 AUGUST, PETALING JAYA – Tropicana Foundation, the charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Berhad continues with its mission to give back to the community. In sync with Malaysia’s Merdeka Day celebration and Malaysia Prihatin (Malaysia Cares) theme, Tropicana extended its support to various associations throughout August 2021:
- 97 children of Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras Sungai Buloh, Selangor were infected with Covid-19. To lighten the burden of the caretakers as well as to provide nutritious meals for the kids, Tropicana Foundation donated 220 kg of fresh Patin fish as well as 62kg of fresh vegetables. Together with its agriculture arm, Purple Pumpkie and Greenhouse, the Tropicana team organised and packed various fresh produce from Patin fish, tomato, kangkung, spinach, sweet potato leaves, brinjal, long beans, mustard green leaf, and Japanese cucumber that will be sufficient to feed the home for about 3 weeks.
- In Johor, Tropicana’s Southern team contributed a total of 300 bags of sundries to the Jabatan Pembangunan & Keselamatan Kampung (“JPKK”) at Kempas and Pusat Latihan Pemimpin Muda at Renggit. Many were affected by the pandemic and these dry food essentials were circulated to the underprivileged residents and seniors within the Johor community to help them during such trying times.
- Tropicana contributed a total of 7,100 protective gears to the Pahang state government and these gears will be used by the frontliners of Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Ahmad Shah, a PPV centre at Kuantan. To help protect the frontliners and to flatten the covid curve, Tropicana donated a range of items such as masks, face shields, disposable gloves, coveralls, gowns, aprons, shoe cover, and headcover.
