26 November, ICON CITY, PETALING JAYA – Mah Sing Group’s (Mah Sing) Arts and Lights iPhone X Photography Contest was launched by Senior Director, International Promotion Division (Asia/Africa), Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Musa Yusof today. The launch was marked by Datuk Musa Yusof snapping a ‘Wefie’ with Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum, Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ho Hon Sang and other senior management of Mah Sing.
Arts and Lights, Malaysia first travelling pop-up art and technology experience, showcases 12 distinctive art and technology installations in Icon City, Petaling Jaya. Arts and Lights is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday until 24 December 2017 from 12pm to 9pm. Admission is completely free and visitors only need to reserve their tickets at www.artsandlights.com.my
Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum shared, “Arts and Lights has been a big hit with our visitors. Prior to the opening of Arts and Lights on 19 November, more than 10,000 people had already pre-reserved their tickets on Eventbrite. The school holidays have also just started so we are expecting a big turn out during the weekends for Arts and Lights.”
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum added, “The installations are designed to be Instagram and photo friendly which aims to encourage visitors to interact with the art installations. As such, we decided to launch the Arts and Lights iPhone X Contest to reward the most creative Instagrammer. We are confident that visitors will take part in the contest as we have already seen thousands of people snapping photos in our installations. Taking Part in the Arts and Lights iPhone X Contest
The Arts and Lights iPhone X Contest will start from 26 November 2017 until 14 January 2018 and the best Instagrammer will win an Apple iPhone X. There are three simple steps to take part in the Arts and Lights iPhone X Contest.
Step 1: Post a photo taken anywhere in Icon City, Petaling Jaya during Arts and Lights.
Step 2: Hashtag #LitByMahSing and tag the Arts and Lights’ Instagram page @ArtsandLights.
Step 3: Upload the photo onto Instagram. Participants have to set their Instagram profile to ‘public’ and follow the Arts and Lights Instagram page @ArtsandLights to find out the winner of the photo contest which will be announced after 14 January 2018.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum shared, “We wanted to have the photo contest on Instagram as it is a platform that encourages photo sharing and is popular among millennials and parents. We hope that in addition to people taking thousands of photos in our Arts and Lights installations, they will cultivate an appreciation for creative artworks, much like the exhibits we are displaying. Arts and Lights serves to make arts, technology and learning extremely relevant to Malaysian millennials in today’s social media empowered world and we hope this event will strengthen the nation’s interest in arts.”
The 12 installations in Arts and Lights include Vista Interactive Space Wall, Planet Vertica, Galaxy of Centura, D’sara Music and Lights, Southville Space Party, Dimension Room, Flying Over Meridin East, Anti-Gravity, Lakeville Rolling Comets, Aruna in the Sky, Moons of Meridin and Digi Wishing Tree. Each of the installations are sponsored by one of Mah Sing’s projects such as M Vertica, Cheras sponsoring the Planet Vertica and M Vista, Penang sponsoring the very popular Vista Interactive Space Wall. Digi Telecommunications is also sponsoring one installation which is the Digi Wishing Tree.
