Strategic Development Of Malay Reserve Land by PKNS

KUALA SELANGOR, 2nd March: Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS) will focus on developing the state’s reserve Malay land this year.

PKNS Chief Executive Officer, Noraida Mohd Yusof, said there were 161,874 hectares of Malay reserve land in Selangor, some of which could be developed to become a potentially continuous business opportunity.

Noraida said the merger of three PKNS hospitality units would increase management efficiency and synergy in the field, as competition had increased.

“These steps are taken to ensure that PKNS units are prepared to face the challenging economic landscape in the next three years.

“We will also be integrating the sales and marketing activities for our ongoing development projects in order to strengthen the group’s finances in the future,” she said to reporters after officiating the closing ceremony of the 2017 PKNS Subsidiaries’ Conference here today.

Apart from that, she said, a more effective strategy to reach the 9,056-unit target of affordable housing come 2020 would be given importance by working closely with its units.

“As of now, we have completed 1,853 units with another 2,423 under construction. It is expected to be completed within the next three years,” she said.

PKNS and its subsidiaries would continue to strive to strengthen its position in the commerce sector for this year despite the slow down in global economy, she said.

Among the subsidiaries are PKNS Engineering and Construction Bhd; De Palma Management Services Snd Bhd; Selgate Corp Sdn Bhd; Selangor Industrial Corp Sdn Bhd; Worldwide Holdings Bhd; DatumCorp International Sdn Bhd; Selaman Sdn Bhd; SACC Convec Sdn Bhd; PKNS Real Estate Sdn Bhd; PKNS Infra Bhd; and, Akademi PKNS Sdn Bhd.
