20 July, KUALA LUMPUR – State governments have been urged to play their role in the construction of affordable homes by providing the site to build the houses.
Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said by doing so, it would reduce the cost of the houses .
I place the responsibility on the state government to provide the site for us to build houses for its people, she told reporters when met after appearing as a guest on Bernama News Channel ‘Ruang Bicara’ programme here.
She also suggested for utility suppliers to bear the cost of providing infrastructure, such as electricity, water and telecommunication for all housing projects in the country.
