More than 1.15 million people set to benefit from the opening of the new interchange.
11 April, KL SOUTH – The Southville City Interchange into and from the KL-Seremban Expressway (which forms part of the North-South Expressway) is now open for public use from 10 am today. Southville City’s interchange is located at Exit 212A Southville City along the KL-Seremban Expressway. With the new interchange now open, Southville City will only be 19km to Kuala Lumpur.
The opening of the interchange was officiated by Director General of Malaysia Highway Authority Datuk Ir. Hj. Ismail bin Md. Salleh, accompanied by Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum, Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang as well as Mah Sing’s senior management team and government officials.
Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum said “Southville City’s interchange will not only serve the residents of Southville City but also the 1.15 million people in Bangi, Kajang, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Semenyih, Dengkil and Nilai. The interchange will cut the distance of Southville City to Kuala Lumpur to only 19km. In addition, the interchange will provide a new access for traffic coming from Dengkil and Putrajaya into the KL-Seremban Expressway, which will alleviate traffic congestion at the Bangi interchange exit (Exit 212).”
The Southville City interchange will have a 14 lane toll (8 ingress tolls and 6 egress tolls) equipped with 6 Touch & Go lanes, 4 Smart Tag lanes and 4 multiclass lanes. The 6 Touch & Go lanes come with Radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems and all 14 tolls are RFID ready for future utilization. Southville City’s toll operates on a closed toll system and can only be accessed via the KL-Seremban Expressway.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong continued, “We are glad to open the interchange today as we are expecting about 15,800 people to be living in Southville City in 2018. We are in the process of handing over Vacant Possession (VP) of 196 units of Avens Residence 2 ½ storey and 3 storey link homes (which is almost completed) and 3,192 units of Savanna Executive Suites. By the time Southville City is completed in the next 8 to 10 years, the township will have a population of 69,000 people. The interchange is crucial to the sustainability of the township as improved connectivity will attract more homeowners as well as businesses.”
Southville City’s interchange will also significantly reduce the driving distance to neighbouring districts such as Dengkil, Sepang, Semenyih, Bangi, by approximately 6km if compared to the current access via Bangi exit (Exit 212) and 4km for Northbound via Putra Mahkota exit (Exit 213).
Southville City Will Continue to Uphold Mah Sing’s Focus on Affordable Developments Priced Below RM500,000
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong shared, “The Group is focused on launching products priced below RM500,000 to meet the market’s demand for affordable homes. In fact, 74% of our 2018 residential sales target is priced below RM500,000 and our upcoming launches in Southville City, namely Sensa Residence and Cerrado Tower C and Tower D will play a big part in reaching our sales target. Now with the interchange, Southville City will be an even more appealing destination for buyers due to its closer distance to KL City and we are looking forward to increased demand for homes in Southville City.”
2018 will see the launch of Southville City’s Sensa Residence in 1H 2018 with indicative built ups from 888sf and indicatively priced from RM385,000. The gross development value for this new launch is approximately RM435 million.
