South East Asia Property Awards: who''ll be crowned the best of 2015?

Singapore, September 23 — The leading lights of the region’s real estate sector are set to compete in little less than a month in the hope of being crowned the best of the best at the South East Asia Property Awards 2015.

Developers judged to be the finest from Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Singapore will compete for the evening’s most prestigious accolade – Best Developer (South East Asia). These include Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd (Myanmar), SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (Philippines), Novaland Group (Vietnam), S P Setia Berhad (Malaysia), Sinar Mas Land (Indonesia), SC Asset (Thailand) and the soon-to-be-named Best Developer (Singapore) winner.

The quality of luxury condos in the region also keeps improving, with some of the most innovative projects ever built – or under construction – all in the running in the Best Condominium (South East Asia) category. Among them are the latest skyscrapers that dominate top-tier cities, appealing to the buying powers of both local and foreign investors, and offering urban retreats, while secondary cities specialise in world-class housing or villa projects.

From the luxury residential anchors of mixed-use developments, like Myanmar’s Shangri-La Serviced Apartments, Indonesia’s Regent Residences and Vietnam’s Gateway Thao Dien, to record-setting projects such as Malaysia’s future tallest residential tower, The Astaka @ 1 Bukit Senyum, to potential dark horses, including Thailand’s Best Luxury Condo champion Ivy Ampio, the South East Asia Property Awards grand finale promises to be an industry-redefining moment for ASEAN’s latest residential developments.

It could also be a triumphant evening also for previous winners, including last year’s Best Developer (South East Asia) winner Ayala Land Inc, which is nominated this year in the Design categories for Park Terraces in Makati, and AIA Company Limited, which will compete in the commercial Development categories for its Bangkok-based sustainable office skyscraper AIA Sathorn Tower. Front Concept Sdn Bhd also returns with three nominations, namely Best Villa/Housing Development (South East Asia), following a Highly Commended win last year for its landmark Senibong Cove upscale housing project in Johor Bahru.

Celebrating its fifth year, the ASEAN strand of the Asia Property Awards, which prides itself on a free, fair and transparent entry and judging process, is more comprehensive than ever.

More than 20 awards will be presented to all the winners from Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, which were previously announced during the respective domestic awards ceremonies after being selected by the local independent judging panels, all of which are overseen by BDO International, one of the largest accountancy networks in the world.

A special accolade – the Real Estate Personality of the Year – will, however, not be chosen by the independent panel of judges and is instead awarded by the editors of Property Report. It will be presented during the ceremony to property veteran Boon Kuah Chia, the recently retired CEO of GuocoLand Group, for his contributions to Singapore’s real estate industry over his three-decade career.

With all these encouraging developments in the region, the South East Asia Property Awards is set to reward the competitive wave of entries submitted at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore on Wednesday, 21st October, at a black-tie gala dinner and ceremony.

As a precursor to the awards, Ensign Media will be holding the first-ever Property Report Congress, a high-level forum featuring top industry leaders and experts, as well as present and past Winners of the Asia Property Awards series, to discuss how to continue to drive growth and excellence in the region’s property sector. The forum opens at 8:30am and closes at 4:00pm.

More than 500 respected industry leaders, VIPs and top real estate professionals are expected to attend the grand finals of the 2015 Awards season that officially kicked off in Yangon last June, before moving on to Manila in July, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur in August, and Jakarta and Bangkok this month.

This year’s awards gala, which begins at 8:00pm, is supported by gold sponsors Kohler and Condo Butlers, which will also be launching its latest virtual concierge product exclusively during the gala night. Moreover, the Awards will receive further boost from two of Asia’s top business associations, including the highly active Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, and the China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong Chapter (CRECCHK).

Presented by Property Report, the South East Asia Property Awards is currently being promoted across Southeast Asia through various advertising campaigns in multiple formats, as well as through influential media partners such as South East Asia Globe, iProperty.com Singapore, Property Guru, ST Property Events, SMART Investment and International Property Expo, Luxury Properties, ROOM, FORM, Palace, and CNN International.

Tickets for the annual event – which is now known as an international networking venue for professional realtors to meet industry leaders and stay in touch with their peers – are bundled with exclusive seats at the Property Report Congress and can be purchased now at Ensign-Media.com. All tickets are inclusive of the Property Report Congress, a cocktail reception, a lavish four-course dinner graced by Sanpellegrino, Official Supplier of the Asia Property Awards 2015, plus free-flow wine, beer and soft drinks throughout the evening.

Sponsorship and media partner opportunities are still available. For more information, visit the official website: AsiaPropertyAwards.com/SEAPA/ or email: info@asiapropertyawards.com. Follow also #AsiaPropertyAwards to join the conversation about the Asia Property Awards series on social media.
