SOPHIA HILLS at District 9 won the Heritage and Residential (Mid-Rise) at the Singapore Property Awards 2019 and qualified for FIABCI d’Excellence 2020.

Sophia Hills is a landmark development in Singapore, as it is a first-of-its-kind conservation initiative to involve three heritage buildings located on Mount Sophia, in the prestigious District 9 which includes Orchard Road.

The development comprises a new 493-unit condominium block situated on Mount Sophia which was deftly integrated with three conserved buildings. The first is an art deco building which was the original Nan Hwa Girls’ School built in 1917 and has been re-designated as a childcare centre and kindergarten. The second, Trinity Theological College Chapel which was founded in 1948, is to be converted into a restaurant. The third, the Olson Building which was part of the Methodist Girl’s School, and was designed by Singapore’s pioneer architects in 1928 will be used as the clubhouse for the condominium development. The buildings were carefully and meticulously restored using appropriate materials, techniques and finishes.

Sunway Property had ventured into Singapore 13 years ago, in 2007. To date, Sunway Property had built 5,397 units with a gross development value (GDV) of SGD 4.9 billion (RM 14.98 bil). Currently, Sunway Property has 1,800 acres of land bank in Johor a mere five kilometers away from the Singapore Second Link via the Coastal Highway Southern Link (CHSL). The township, Sunway Iskandar, consists of six precincts, namely The Lakeview, The Capital, The Parkview, The Riverside, The Seafront and The Marketplace – with each precinct designed to be self-sustaining integrated cities with convenient amenities. To date, Sunway Iskandar is already emerging to be a thriving city, with RM 3 billion (SGD 1 billion) worth of properties already built and in the pipeline.
