30 August, KUALA LUMPUR – City developer, SkyWorld Development Group (SkyWorld) has identified 2 old folk’s homes as recipients of the funds raised from the innovative CSR campaign #Bid4Good. Joy Garden Semenyih is the first recipient and the team has organized a visit to the home on last Saturday.

According to Mr. Andy Leong Chain Hong, Chief Financial Officer of SkyWorld, this visit is an opportunity for the team to volunteer and contribute in social works. “In SkyWorld, our focus is to transform the city to a better place and to transform the lives of the community. We have managed to raise RM20,000 from the public through our #Bid4Good campaign and we have pledged to match RM20,000 to reach out to more underprivileged society. Joy Garden is the first home to benefit from this and we hope this fund can assist them in their daily operation like rental, utility bills and other necessities.”

SkyWorld has also encouraged its fellow SkyRians to participate in this impactful movement by visiting the elderly or donating items required by the homes. Most of them have donated cash where the team has bought household items, dry food, medical items, clothing and other necessities. The team has also contributed bags of soil to support them in their farming activities.

Most of the senior citizens in Joy Garden Semenyih have no families or they were abandoned. Since Mid Autumn festival is just around the corner, the SkyWorld Team took this opportunity to have an early celebration and to spend some quality time with the elderly. By providing the necessities, they hope the elderly could celebrate this festival with comfort, warmth and most importantly, love and happiness.

Besides handing over the mock cheque of RM20,000 and other donation items, SkyWorld Team has also organized a dinner at the nearby restaurant. Old folks of Joy Garden and orphans from House of Joy were treated to a full course dinner and an assortment of mooncakes and pomelo.

One of the residents, Uncle Chin shared “We are very happy and excited to receive SkyWorld Team at our home. We want to take this opportunity to thank SkyWorld and the public for their kind generosity and we deeply appreciate the donation money and items given to us. Most importantly, their presence have brought us so much laughter and happiness.”

As a community developer, SkyWorld aims to transform the city to a better place by providing a sustainable Sky Living experience and #Bid4Good is a charity drive to uplift the community by transforming the lives of the underprivileged society.
