3 October 2017, Iskandar Malaysia, Johor: Invest Iskandar Malaysia 2017 Symposium (Invest IM) got off to an exciting start today. Touted as the biggest and most comprehensive investment-related event in the southern economic corridor, the symposium that is organised by Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) is one of the signature events in conjunction with Iskandar Malaysia’s year-long 10th anniversary celebration (IM10).
The symposium features a line-up of high-profile speakers who will share updates on the progress of Iskandar Malaysia, latest Government policies and strategies which can bring more investment opportunities to current and potential investors alike.
Themed ‘Shaping the Future Economy of Iskandar Malaysia’, the symposium is being held at Phoenix Hotel, Forest City, Johor and was officiated by YAB Dato’ Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Menteri Besar of Johor Bahru.
Also present at the Invest IM was YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry. During his Ministerial Keynote Dato’ Sri Mustapa said that global economy is expected to improve in 2017 compared to 2016. He added that the positive development in Japan and China is expected to drive growth in Asia and provide a positive impact on Malaysia which has seen its GDP on an upward trend recording 5.7% for the first half of 2017.
YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa also stated that Iskandar Malaysia remains one of the key beneficiaries of the improving economy especially with all the investor-friendly factors in place along with its positioning as a choice destination for Investment, Work and Living.
