SHAH ALAM, Dec 16 — The Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS) today signed an agreement with Worldwide Holdings Bhd for the sale of 86.4 hectares (ha) in Section 11, Kota Puteri, near Ijok for RM139 million.
PKNS General Manager, Azlan Md Alifiah, and Worldwide Chief Executive Officer, Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria, signed the agreement.
Azlan said the land sale would boost residential development in the area that was undertaken by PKNS for the last 15 years.
“The sale to the experienced housing developer is a good move as it can attract various segments of society to buy houses in Kota Puteri, which is now accessible via several highways.
“Landed property in Kota Puteri can still be purchased at between RM350,000 and RM450,000,” he told reporters here today.
Azlan said the project, which has an estimated gross development value of RM1.4 billion, involved the construction of 1,400 units of affordable homes by Worldwide.
He said Kota Puteri was designed to be a township of choice for the younger generation.
“We are now in discussions with the state government to improve the public transport system in the area,” he said.
Norazlina said Kota Puteri was the best area for buyers wanting to purchase a landed property.
“In addition to various types of affordable housing to be offered, development is expected to be characterised by modern elegance to attract the younger generation,” she said.
The 809-ha Kota Puteri is presently developed by PKNS.
