23 June, BATU KAWAN – The Sakura Summer Festival comes to Eco Horizon this year, after a successful run in Eco Meadows last year. Eco World Development Group Berhad (EcoWorld Malaysia) is bringing back the fun-filled festival for the second year running to its new township in Batu Kawan this year.
EcoWorld Malaysia Chief Operating Officer Dato’ S Rajoo said the Group is excited to welcome visitors from near and far. “After a successful run in Eco Meadows last year where we received approximately 20,000 visitors, we are expecting more visitors this year as the response has been encouraging even before the festival began. We are also very honoured to have the Consul General of Japan in Penang, Shinichiro Kanoya join us for the event today.”
Deemed as the Sakura Summer Festival – the festival runs for three weeks, from 22 June – 7 July, with various highlights in each week. The highlight of the festival in Week 1 is the food carnival which has over 80 types of Japanese F&B offerings to choose from.
Visitors will be treated to an array of stage performances such as Japanese dance performances and jam sessions with lucky draw prizes to be won as well. To add to the festivities, visitors can also dress up in their favourite Japanese attires and take pictures with the cosplayers. The township is also dressed up with various Japanese-themed decorations such as the Wisteria tunnel, the Japanese arch as well as cherry blossoms surrounding the area, making one feel as if they were physically in Japan!
There will be a Konichiwa Kids Day with activities specially curated for kids aged five to ten on Week 2 and a Japanese Movie Weekend on Week 3.
The first gated and guarded landed residential development for EcoWorld Malaysia in the Batu Kawan corridor, Eco Horizon features the classic DNA of an EcoWorld development. Residents and visitors alike are greeted by a signature master roundabout when entering the development before passing through a grand entranceway.
Its maiden launch, the Ashton precinct, comprises 704 residential units with built-ups ranging from 2,290 sq ft to 2,601 sq ft. The 2-storey terraces are 22ft x 70ft, superlink homes are 25ft x 75ft and garden homes are 30ft x 60ft with prices starting from RM878,000. The Group is set to launch its second phase – the Brydon precinct, which consists of semidees and bungalows soon.
The most talked about and anticipated feature of Eco Horizon is its twin Flamingo Lakes, a 13.6-acre flamingo shaped water body and landscaped park located at the centre of the township.
Another unique feature of the development is the centralised clubhouse built on three acres with various amenities such as an Olympic sized swimming pool, community hall, lounge and dedicated BBQ area.
The 300-acre Eco Horizon has a gross development value of RM7 billion and is strategically situated just off the primary interchange linking the Second Penang Bridge to the North-South Highway with prominent landmarks in the immediate vicinity such as the Batu Kawan Stadium, Batu Kawan Industrial Park and several educational institutions.
Rajoo added that the Group is progressing well with its Penang projects and should be handing over the first of EcoWorld’s properties in Penang in the fourth quarter of 2018. “We are excited to welcome our first batch of residents to Eco Meadows in Penang. They will now join many others who are already part of the EcoWorld community in our other developments. We hope Eco Meadows will be a testament of our promise to deliver unmatched product and service quality in all our developments and that our residents will enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle here.”
