S P Setia foundation handed over 15,300 masks to its nine adopted schools

S P Setia Berhad through its charity arm, S P Setia Foundation, continues to make a positive change in the community by equipping its nine adopted schools with reusable fabric masks, hand sanitizers, soap dispensers and soap refills recently.

In the last two weeks, the Foundation provided over 15,300 reusable masks to schools in Penang, Selangor and Johor. A total of 5,100 students and teachers each received three pieces of fabric masks for their daily use. The students and teachers will use the other donated items to practise proper hygiene in the schools to ensure the spread of Covid-19 is limited, keeping the schools a safe space for everyone.

In support of of the Health Ministry’s advice to practise ‘3W’ (Wash, Wear, Warn), S P Setia Foundation handed out fabric masks, soaps and sanitisers to SK Kota Dalam, Johor, under the School Hygiene Edcucation Programme.

The initiative is part of the Foundation’s School Hygiene Education Programme to arm the school community with adequate protection against the pandemic and to educate them on the importance of maintaining good hygiene. The Foundation chose to give fabric masks for its sustainable and eco-friendly properties as the masks are washable up to 100 times each.

S P Setia Foundation adopted the nine schools under its core programme, the Setia Caring School Programme (SCSP). The SCSP which has been running since 2015 aims to cultivate future leaders who are not only academically successful but also grounded in positive moral values and possessing empathy for all in a multicultural community. Previous activities held under SCSP include Hydrotherapy sessions at SPICE Aquatics, Leadership and Science Camps, SCSP Teacher’s Teambuilding, and Unity Sport’s Day among others.
