KUALA LUMPUR, January 24 — The Federal Territories’ Legasi Residensi Kampung Baru Affordable Homes (RUMAWIP) project here is expected to be ready by next year with the units to be offered at a cost of RM300,000 each to Kampung Baru residents.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the project comprised 206 units, sized at 807 square metres, three bedrooms and two bathrooms and came with condominium standard facilities like parking lots, playground and kindergartens.
It was quite a challenging task to get the project off the ground but in the end, everything worked out, he told reporters after the balloting ceremony for the units here today.
As of December last year, the ministry has built 52,562 units of affordable homes, which is 65% of its target of 80,000 units by 2018.
