KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — The superstructure of the first high-rise premium office building, Medini 9, in Medini City, Johor, boasting a gross floor area of about half a million square feet, has been completed.
The completion of the superstructure was marked by a topping- off ceremony yesterday at the rooftop of the 21-storey building.
Comprising two corporate office blocks, Medini 9 will be completed and operational in the first quarter of next year, said its developer, Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MIMSB).
MIMSB Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr James Tee said Medini 9 was the first high-rise premium office building developed by the company in Medini City, the central business district (CBD) of Iskandar Puteri.
“I am delighted to announce the completion of the Medini 9 superstructure, which would further boost the confidence level of developers, investors and prospects of Medini City,” he said in the statement today.
Tee said Medini 9 was designed and developed in accordance with the MSC Malaysia Cybercentre-status building standards established by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.
The MSC Malaysia Cybercentre-status, which was granted recently to Medini City, covers a 12.6-hectare (ha) area.
“This will further enhance Medini City as a CBD capable of attracting international and local companies particularly those in the global business services and information and communications technology sectors,” he said.
Medini City boasts a high-speed Internet, green building certification, and in close proximity to Tuas Singapore Customs, Immigration and Quarantine, Senai International Airport, and Changi International Airport.
“Surrounded by lush greeneries such as the 29ha connected central park, Medini 9 is a suitable location for small to large-sized corporations seeking a prominent business address in a premium and strategic location,” he said.
Medini 9 is the third office building developed by MIMSB after Medini 6 and Medini 7.
