KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 — Prasarana Malaysia Bhd’s unit, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, will provide technical support for Bangkok MRT Purple Line in Thailand.
In a statement today, the company said a team of six drivers and five controllers will be attached to the Thai MRT operator for four months.
“The request for manpower support for the site integration test came from Marubeni-Toshiba JV, which is responsible in delivering the systems for the line.
“We are honoured to offer our service sto our fellow international partners especially ASEAN member countries,” said Rapid Rail Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Nizam Mohd Amin.
He also said that Rapid Rail and Prasarana would share its experience in the planning and operations of urban rail lines with MRT Jakarta.
“Both parties would also explore the possibility in technical, operational information, expertise and know-how exchanges to enhance capabilities,” he said.
Rapid Rail’s first international was the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Makkah Metro Southern Line for this year’s haj operations.
Ahmad Nizam said the company would further improve services in the Holy Land next year and begin the preparations early for the 2016 haj season.
