19 April, BENTONG – More affordable housing projects will be implemented by the federal or state government in the district soon.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the implementation of the affordable housing projects would be a top priority of the government as it is a necessity and the projects received high demand from the people.
As an example, Liow who is also Bentong MP referred to the 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) in Sungai Dua here, which was implemented by the Pahang state government.
The project involved the construction of 28 units of double-storey houses costing RM135,000 with three bedrooms and two bathrooms each are scheduled to be completed next year.
Only 28 units will be built here on the 0.7284 hectare (1.8 acre) site which is a former sawmill. But we will find more suitable land for the following projects, he told reporters after launching the project here today.
He added the federal government would also be building 500 units of medium cost houses in the district and the project is scheduled to begin this year.
