KUALA SELANGOR, Jan 11 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) will be launching 12 new property projects this year, said Chief Executive Officer, Noraida Mohd Yusof.
The projects, to be developed in nine locations, would involve 1,157 units of semi-detached houses, affordable houses and commercial components with projected sales of RM800 million, she said.
“The nine locations that have been identified are Kota Damansara, Rasa, Kota Puteri, Bernam Jaya, Antara Gapi, Selayang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor and Selangor Cyber Valley.
“For this year, our focus is on completing the affordable houses according to schedule, besides completing all our existing projects,” she told a press conference after officiating PKNS’ conference attended by its management team members and senior officers here, today.
The two-day programme starting today is aimed at strengthening the corporation’s strategy particularly in the property sector in line with the current socio-economic challenges.
Noraida said PKNS had set a budget allocation of RM1.8 billion this year, out of which RM997.7 million or more than half were for development expenditure.
She said the development of affordable houses would continue to be tthe main agenda of PKNS, with the target of building 13,484 housing units by 2020.
“We have successfully built more than 1,500 affordable housing units to-date and with the support of the state government, we will strive to achieve our target,” she said.
