19 November, PETALING JAYA – Taking on a unique stance in property development, LBS Bina Group Berhad, Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Lim Hock San, asserts, “As we succeed and grow, we should give back and leave a legacy of betterment for community and country.” Guided by this perspective, the township developer continues to chart sustainable growth in a challenging market with a vibrant portfolio and equally active involvement in social works, resulting in the FIABCI Malaysia Property Award™ conferring the prestigious ‘Property Man’ award to LBS’ Tan Sri Lim.

“The FIABCI Malaysia Chapter is held in high regard within the property sphere. To be recognised on this stage is truly an honour, and I am humbled. My sincere thanks goes to the esteemed members of FIABCI. I believe this award does not reflect on a single person alone, but the dedication of an entire team. LBS was founded by my father in the 1960s, and I am grateful for our humble beginnings, his guidance and our strong family roots. It has enabled me to carry on his legacy and lead LBS to new heights as an award winning township developer and most importantly, a responsible corporate citizen. Our vision is to continue transforming lives and evolving landscapes through our innovative developments and community outreach efforts,” said Tan Sri Lim.

Tan Sri Lim Hock San has always been a supporter of the national agenda of helping all Malaysians own homes. Over 25 years since its foray into the property development scene, LBS has established a respected reputation as a reliable and resilient property player and corporate citizen. Powered by more than 700 employees, LBS has garnered over 69 awards and accolades across property, business, digital media and social platforms. Aligned to the national agenda of housing the nation, the Group has built over 34,000 units affordable homes as todate. Displaying consistent growth amidst challenging market sentiments, LBS has recorded approximately RM1.681 billion in unbilled sales as at 31 October 2018 which puts the Group on track to achieve its targets for the year.

LBS has since built a solid portfolio of developments in key urban areas including the Klang Valley, Pahang and Johor. The Group is optimistic about growing its portfolio supported by a current landbank of 3,918 acres as at 15 November 2018. Making a bold move to diversify the business to remain relevant, Tan Sri Lim’s vision has expanded beyond property development and into hospitality, retail, and tourism.

In addition to spearheading LBS, Tan Sri Lim is notably passionate and concerned with the development of young entrepreneurs and the business fraternity, communities in need, as well as Malaysia’s bi-lateral ties with China. His merit and passion resonated on the global stage when Tan Sri Lim had the distinction of being the sole representative from Malaysia, among the 38 non-voting Chinese delegates from 30 countries around the world to attend and put forth proposals at the landmark Lianghui annual event in China. The event is closely followed by global markets for future direction on the world’s number two economy.

Beyond being a builder of homes, Tan Sri Lim envisions LBS to continue being a generous builder of the community, the nation and a better future for all generations in Malaysia. Tan Sri Lim put in concrete measures to achieve this through the formation of the LBS Foundation. Guided by four key pillars, namely education, community, health and the environment, the social outreach arm of the Group actively undertakes initiatives and partnerships dedicated to improving the wellbeing of communities. The trait of balancing professional responsibilities with lending his time and expertise for the development of communities earned Tan Sri the ‘Property Man’ title at this year’s Malaysia Property Award™ 2018 which was held at One World Hotel.

The Malaysia Property Award™ 2018 is organised by the FIABCI Malaysia Chapter. FIABCI is known as the International Real Estate Federation, a worldwide network of professionals in the property industry. The Malaysia Property Award™ is a gold standard for developers in the real estate industry and has gained recognition and prestige as the “Oscar Award” in the property fraternity.
