OK Blockchain Centre Sdn Bhd official opening ceremony and OBC-UTM MoU At Medini 9, Medini City

Document exchange between Mr. Gen Matsuda (L) and Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail (R) that marks the strategic collaboration between OBC and UTM in sharing of information and technological expertise includes industry visits, practical training, and exchange of academic materials, along with collaboration in publications and research.

20 August, ISKANDAR PUTERI — OK Blockchain Centre Sdn Bhd (OBC) is pleased to announce that today it was officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Medini 9, Medini City, Iskandar Puteri, Johor. “Medini City is a strategic location full of potentials, and we are greatly happy to set our new headquarters here to spearhead blockchain based technology which is unlimited to cryptocurrencies,” said Matsuda Gen, CEO at OK Blockchain Centre Sdn Bhd.

Today’s ceremony was hosted by both OBC and OKWave officials whom travelled from Japan to take part in the ceremony. The event also featured MoU exchange between OBC and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), donation from OBC to UTM and aspired collaboration from OBC to Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MIM).

OBC contributed RM150,000.00 together with Wowbit (WWB) cryptocurrency in the value of RM50,000.00. The fund will be used for the setup of a blockchain research laboratory in UTM, while the WWB currency is to be used in the initial use case in blockchain technology research. The Syariah-compliant Initial Coin Offering (ICO) project is one of the initial use cases in the pipeline.

To symbolise the inauguration of the OBC operations at Medini 9, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held and was participated by:
