6 March, SEREMBAN – A total of 8,651 applications for Type A houses costing RM80,000 have been received by the state government to date, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Aminuddin said, however, currently, 1,384 units of residential houses belonging to that Type A would be handed over to the low-income group soon.
“We accept a lot of applications for Type A affordable house, but for the time being only 1,384 units of houses will undergo a drawing of lots including 11 units that we have made today.
“Apart from what we done in Sarimban today, lots will also be drawn at Bukit Senawang Perdana, Taman Kasturi Tampin, Taman Seraya Rembau, Taman Iringan Bayu Mambau, Zamrud Batu Kikir, Taman Juasseh Sentosa Kuala Pilah and Bayu Indera Lukut,” he said.
He said this after a lot drawing session of the Type A Affordable Houses at Sarimban Hill Park (Shang Garden) here, today.
This affordable house-ownership property project is a private initiative to comply with the implementation of the Negeri Sembilan Housing Policy.
In the meantime, Aminuddin said that, to help with the housing loans of applicants who were successful, the state government had taken the initiative to negotiate with the banks involved so that they could consider the application for housing loans using Bank Negara’s Affordable Homes Fund.
“This fund was introduced by the federal government during the tabling of the 2019 Budget. Under this fund, eligible applicants who have an income of under RM2,300.00 a month, have the opportunity to get financing facilities for the purchase of a first house that does not exceed RM150,000.00 with an interest rate of 3.5% for a loan period of up to 40 years.
In addition, Aminuddin said that in an effort to increase the number of affordable house projects in the state, the state government had informed the Ministry of Housing and Local Government on the availability of 11 sites in all the districts in the state, which could be used as affordable housing project sites.
