20 December, SEREMBAN – The Negeri Sembilan Health Department has issued compounds to nine construction sites for allowing their premises to become become Aedes mosquito breeding grounds.
State Health, Environment, Cooperatives and Consumerism Committee chairman S. Veerapan said they were issued with RM4,500 compound each.
A total of 30 construction sites were inspected and nine of them found breeding Aedes mosquito in their premises and for this offence, the compound is at RM4,500.
Meanwhile, notice to clean up the premises have also been issued to eight construction sites with potentials for Aedes mosquito to breed and we will carry out inspection within seven days from the date of issuance (of the notice).
Developers who fail to settle the compound or to comply with the notice to clean up the premises will then be charged in court, he said in a statement here today.
Veerapan said seven teams comprising 47 health enforcement personnel were involved in the recent operations to combat Aedes mosquito at the construction sites in the state.
