More new PPRT houses built for public next year, says Sabah Rural Development Ministry

test

6 September, TAMBUNAN – The Sabah Rural Development Ministry will focus on providing new homes to the public under the Poor People’s Housing Project (PPRT) next year, said its minister Ewon Benedict.

He said the ministry will reduce its repair programme as the people needed new homes.

This is my view, the official view of the Sabah Rural Development Ministry that new homes are more important, he told reporters after visiting the rubber Sejahtera Mini Estate in Kaingaran, Tambunan here today.

However, Ewon said, the government would not neglect people who needed to repair their PPRT homes.

He added that the ministry would also focus on providing PPRT in rural areas to allow more people to own homes.

He said the ministry had submitted applications for 3,000 units of PPRT homes to the federal government but the approval was subject to the Budget 2019.
