
10 August, KUALA LUMPUR – Property developer Mah Sing Group Berhad (Mah Sing) together with its charity arm Mah Sing Foundation raised a total of RM6.63million for 2018. This was celebrated during the “Mah Sing Foundation Musical Night” held at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The guest of honour of the musical night was Kuala Lumpur Mayor, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Haji Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz. Also in attendance were Mah Sing’s Chairperson Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Siti Norma, Mah Sing’s Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Leong Hoy Kum, and Mah Sing Foundation’s Chairman, Dato’ Indera Syed Norulzaman bin Syed Kamarulzaman.

Playing to a packed hall, 19 of Dama Asia’s veteran performers and young talents as well as Mah Sing’s staff, backed by a 10-piece orchestra sang and danced the night away, showcasing 19 songs which were in turn touching and rousing. Dama Asia’s Artistic Director Pun Kai Loon and music director Khor Seng Chew put together the musical which depicted the history of Mah Sing and the inspiration that leads to the inception of Mah Sing Foundation in 2005. It also narrated the inspirational journey which in 2017 led to the unveiling of its new vision “Reinventing hope, creating lasting change in children’s lives.”, logo and key pillars namely Education, Health and Wellbeing as well as Community Development.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor, Tan Sri Haji Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz said, “It is great to see big corporation like Mah Sing working together with their partners and associates to reach out to the underprivileged communities and give back to the society. I applaud Mah Sing Foundation for collaborating on education focused projects with Yayasan Generasi Gemilang and Osai Foundation, and also working with charitable organisation such as DAYBREAK Society that runs vocational training programmes for the Persons with Disabilities. This is in line with the government efforts to create a sustainable environment for every level of society to develop together.”
Mah Sing Foundation’s Chairman, Dato’ Indera Syed Norulzaman in thanking the generous donors said, “2018 marks the 13th year of Mah Sing Foundation’s establishment and we are extremely privileged to have the opportunity to reach out and give back to the community with the support of our generous donors. In fact, for the past 3 years since 2015, we have contributed more than RM8million as well as impacted more than 10 thousand beneficiaries. We consider ourselves a young and vibrant organisation and are always eager to engage with the communities and look at different ways to make a positive difference to the lives of the people be it monetary, in kind or voluntary works. Our transformation announced in 2017 was a pivotal point as the 3 pillars acted as a blueprint of our foundation’s direction, allowing us to streamline our efforts.”
