KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 – M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd, a visionary developer focused on creating smaller scale boutique developments has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with four leading IT companies namely Alcatel-Lucent, Select TV, Nutanix and Panduit to create an integrated metropolitan hub for their new development projects.
The company aims to incorporate the cloud-based integrated solution to all its future property development starting off with M101 Dang Wangi and M101 Bukit Bintang properties. Both properties, which have a total gross development value of RM600 million are expected to be completed in 2017.
The MoU was signed by both Dato’ Seth Yap and Datuk Chua Eng Pu, Executive Director of M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd with Mr Lim Chiam Teck, Country Manager (Global Enterprise & Public Sector), Alcatel-Lucent, Mr Goh Chung Sen, CEO of Select TV, Mr Desmond Ong, Managing Director of Malaysia & Brunei from Nutanix and Mr Kevin Choong, Area Sales Manager of Panduit.
The integrated metropolitan solution will comprise of a triple play system using Alcatel-Lucent’s Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks (GPON) technology which provides video, data and voice into a single network. Alcatel-Lucent’s modem-sized devices will then be connected to Select TV’s IPTV system for in-room entertainment. To ensure consistent 24x7multimedia streaming, both M101 Dang Wangi and M101 Bukit Bintang properties will be wired up with Panduit’s point-to-point high-quality fiber optic cables that run at speeds of up to 1Gbps.
Both properties are then connected via Nutanix’s new multi-premise technology which allows for one location to host the hotel property management software that can be shared with other locations through the cloud-based server.

M101 Dang Wangi and M101 Bukit Bintang properties are identical in concept providing integrated commercial and retail development with SoFo (small office/flexible office) features. The upper floors will house the hotel while the lower floors will comprise the individual suites. The carpark area and retail space will be on the ground and first floors of the buildings.
“The idea of building an integrated metropolitan is to centralize various city conveniences combining properties like hotels, commercial units, retail outlets, entertainment features for consumers to form a prolonged interaction with each service and facility. This diversifies consumption and increases spending,” quips Datuk Chua Eng Pu, Executive Director of M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd.
