It truly is a valuable opportunity to be able to meet people who have come from afar. At the same time, as the only Malaysian representative invited to attend this session, I would also like to emphasize that the “One Belt One Road” initiated by President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, is not only about physical freight line. In today’s world where the internet, global trade and international finance are universally connected, it is also a concept and strategy that drives the interaction and cooperation of each country’s economy. The Malaysian government has responded enthusiastically to the “One Belt One Road” and has carried out cooperation on all aspects at the government level. Malacca and Guangdong have now been established as twin cities. As the government have taken the lead, Malaysian and Chinese businessmen now have more opportunities to work together, with the Malaysian businessmen of Chinese descent play a liaising role and putting it into practice.”
