Kuala Lumpur, April 17: Palm Garden Golf Club (“PGGC”) was voted Malaysia’s top three ‘BEST GREENS’ for the second consecutive year. The top golf clubs in the country were celebrated in the recent ‘ParGolf People’s Choice Awards 2017’ presentation ceremony at the Carlsberg Brewery, Shah Alam.

The ‘ParGolf People’s Choice Awards’ winners were determined via an online voting of 190 golf course in Malaysia by the public from January to March 2017. Awards were presented to the top three clubs in each of the 12 categories in Malaysia and this year’s edition saw the emergence of three new categories namely Best Championship Layout, Best Customer Service and Best Clubhouse. ParGolf Magazine is one of the leading golf publications in Malaysia and the Asian region, which features comprehensive and informative articles on golfing; golf players, famed golf courses as well as travel and lifestyle elements.

PGGC is a renowned award winning public golf course within the Leisure and Hospitality business segment of IOI Properties Group Berhad (“IOIPG”), a leading property player in Malaysia. This magnificent 18-hole golf course is strategically located in IOI Resort City, a well-known integrated development crafted by IOIPG which is also home to the GBI-certified IOI City Towers, IOI City Mall, Puteri Palma Condo, world class hotel brands – Putrajaya Marriott Hotel and Le Méridien Putrajaya.

Commenting on the achievement, PGGC General Manager, Brandon Chin said, “We are very grateful to all the golfers out there who have voted us into the Top Three and it is a great honour considering that we are not a membership based golf club.”

The golf club has been accorded numerous accolades since its opening in 2012, namely 2012-Best New Golf Course by ParGolf Awards, 2013-Best Maintained Golf Course by ParGolf Awards, 2013/14-Best Golf Development in Malaysia by Asia Pacific Property Awards, 2016-ParGolf People’s Choice Awards for ‘Best Overall Golf Experience’, ‘Best Greens’ and ‘Best Corporate Tournament Venue’ in Malaysia, and recognized as the 1st Big Hole Golf in Malaysia by Malaysia Book of Records in June 2016; amongst others.

One of the unique feature of this golf club is its numerous “trade-mark” high lipped bunkers and challenging greens with average speed of 10.5’ on the stimp meter. It is known to be among the most challenging golf courses in the country, as it tests the mind, skill and dexterity of any player.

Apart from the challenging play, golfers get to enjoy the breathtaking views of the course and the surrounding wetlands at its unique two tier drink hut located at the heart of the course. The course is also complemented by a Mediterranean-styled clubhouse adjoining the recreational facilities section, which comprises a collection of Infiniti, Jacuzzi and wading pools, mini gymnasium, tennis court and sauna. The R5ve Café at the Clubhouse offers a panoramic view of the course as diners enjoy a delectable selection of local and western cuisines.
