22 January, KLANG – The Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has allocated RM4.6 million for the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure at two apartments and a squatter housing area in the district.

Its minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said that RM2.2 million would be for Sri Ayu Apartment in Bandar Putra, while the remainder for Golden Villa Apartment in Bandar Putra and Kampung Dagang Jati.

“KPKT approved this allocation after seeing that the people needed help in the respective housing areas. At Sri Ayu for example, there is no fencing between the apartment and the adjacent illegal factory. We are concerned about the safety of the people especially children, so KPKT has approved about RM1 million for the fence construction,” he told a press conference after visiting the apartment here today.

Noh said that apart from the fencing, allocation was also channelled for the construction of an indoor futsal court, four gazebos, surau and netball court repairs, installation of air-conditioning units in the hall and installation of fire extinguishers for the volunteer firefighting teams at the apartment.
