KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 — Holiday Villa Hotels and Resorts, which renewed its hotel licensing agreement with its Saudi partner, Manazeli Hotel group, for the operation of Holiday Villa Madinah Al-Munawarah, now into its sixth year, will pursue two more projects together in Makkah.
Chairman, Tan Sri Azman Shah Harun, said the projects include a new hotel and another project which he declined to disclose.
He said this to reporters at a special get-together with Jehad Nazer, Chairman of Holiday Villa Madinah Al-Munawarah plus local umrah and haj travel agencies.
Meanwhile, Jehad said, the hotel, to be known as Bakkah Holiday Villa, would be opened in the next two months.
“Bakkah is an old name of Makkah. It is a 4-star hotel with 160 rooms,” he said.
Touching on Holiday Villa Madinah, he said, it was a 5-star hotel with 331 guest rooms and suites.
He said the hotel occupancy rate averaged 65% and would reach 100% during the peak seasons.
As for the guest composition, he said, almost 35% would be Turkish while the rest will be a mixture of Malaysians, Indonesians, Egyptians and others.
At the event, Jehad also took on questions from the umrah and haj agents on the operation of the hotel and assured them of improved performance.
