Greenland Group and AirAsia Unveil New A320 Livery for GuangZhou Direct Flights

SENAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 24 FEBRUARY 2017 – In their continued efforts to promote rapidly developing Johor Bahru as a lifestyle and tourism hotspot, Greenland Group and Air Asia today launched their joint partnership A320 livery. The newly unveiled design will be flying direct routes between Senai Airport and GuangZhou seeks to showcase the potential of Malaysia’s southern expanses to draw the interest and patronage of the local and international community.

The launch was attended by Mr. Du FuGen, General Manager of Greenland Malaysia, and Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial AirAsia Berhad (Malaysia).

“As a Fortune 500 company headquartered in China and China’s no. 1 intergrated developer, it is natural that Greenland Group sees the importance of fostering and solidifying ties between China and Malaysia. We believe that together with AirAsia’s direct route to GuangZhou, we can promote Johor Bahru as a major industry leader and hub in tourism, trade and investment,” said Mr. FuGen, speaking at the event.

Greenland Group is a developer which counts Jade Palace, a prestigious project in the Danga Bay area along the Straits of Johor amongst its portfolio. Designed by internationally-renowned architect Aedas, one of the Top 5 winners of the Architechs’ Journal International Practice for the year 2015. Jade Palace combines cutting edge designs, evoking forms of modernity and functionality with a free-flowing wave design that integrates with its surrounding structures. Highlights of Jade Palace also include a “5D” concept which marry the greenery of nature together with panoramic views of the seafront, as well as access to a unique coastal shopping hub with delightful seaside shopping and dining options.

AirAsia Berhad (Malaysia) Head of Commercial, Spencer Lee echoed Mr. FuGen’s sentiments on emphasising and encouraging bilateral relations and catering to the needs of these communities.

“Our direct flights out of Senai which began in April last year have helped in boosting cooperation between Johor Bahru and GuangZhou, especially with the ongoing development in Iskandar Malaysia which has presented a demand for air travel between Johor and parts of China. Through our partnership with Greenland Group, we hope to connect and attract even more customers and key players here to grow Johor Bahru together,” said Spencer.

This partnership serves to create further opportunities for Greenland Group in its company strategy to expand with more projects in more cities in the coming years. Its contract with AirAsia also includes 3 units of Skybus A320s which carries the new livery, assisting in creating more awareness and recognition of the brand. Greenland Group hopes this cooperative will see more potential companies and investors joining hands with them for future ventures and successes.
