LANGKAWI, November 6— A total of 2,300 houses belonging to the urban poor will be repaired this year, involving an allocation of RM23 million from the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry.
The ministry’s Under Secretary for Urban Wellbeing, Datuk Hafidzah Hassan said so far 2,058 houses had been repaired and the remaining houses would be completed in two months.
“This is one of the aid under the ministry’s urban poverty eradication programme,” she told reporters after visiting the houses which were repaired under the programme here.
She said Kelantan had the most number of recipients in the programme involving 341 houses, followed by Melaka (330) and Sarawak (273).
“In Langkawi, KPKT has provided assistance to repair five urban poor houses this year,” she said.
