2 August, KUALA LUMPUR – Maju Kuala Lumpur today held a Press Conference at the Maju Kuala Lumpur Sales Gallery to announce the most awaited cycling race among cycling enthusiasts, the MEX Ride 2018, which will be the first ever race on the MAJU Expressway (MEX).

MEX Ride 2018, powered by Maju Kuala Lumpur, that is set to take place on MAJU Expressway (MEX) E20 on 12 August 2018 from 6.00 am to 12.00 noon, is sanctioned by the Malaysia National Cycling Federation (MNCF), and has Junior Cycling Malaysia (JCM) as their Technical Partner. JCM is an initiative under Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) to identify talent and promote cycling races in Malaysia.

According to Mohd Faiq Tan Sri Abu Sahid, Group Managing Director of the Maju Group, “The purpose of the race is not only to drive home the brand presence for the Maju Kuala Lumpur development project, but the event would also be the Maju Group’s contribution as a corporate player to support the development of cycling and a healthier lifestyle in Malaysia.”

On top of that, he hoped that the youth would support future sporting events like this so that they will help foster a more active community and be a part of the nation-building process.

MEX Ride 2018 is targeting around 2, 000 riders, both local and international, to participate. During the race, a carnival will be held at the Seri Kembangan R&R southbound, which is the starting and finishing point for the race. This will entertain the riders’ families and supporters with celebrity appearances, a mini travel fair, carnival games, fitness programs and many more activities to encourage the importance of healthy living. The carnival will extend to 3.00 pm on race day.

In celebration of the MEX Ride 2018, Maju Kuala Lumpur will offer rewards to those who purchase property units at Maju Kuala Lumpur during the race kit collection period and on the event day itself.

Farid bin Dato’ Hj Nawawi, the Chief Executive Officer of Maju Kuala Lumpur explained that, “In collaboration with business associates and partners, Maju Kuala Lumpur will reward purchaser who purchase on race day with enticing rewards”.

“Apart from that, to appreciate our existing 1, 500 purchasers, we will throw in lucky draws with prizes such as travel vouchers, exclusive 5-star dining experience and electrical items to be won as a token of their support.”
