KUALA SELANGOR, Dec 29 — The Eco World Foundation has allocated RM15,000 to help 10 families in Kampung Seri Sentosa, here, whose homes were hit by floods recently.
Its chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the allocation was also used to repair the road which was damaged by the floods, other than providing food and other daily necessities for the villagers.
“Thirty Eco World volunteers went to the ground on Monday to help residents repair the badly damaged 150-metre road to the village.
“The volunteers also helped to clean the homes of the residents which were under 2.13 metres of water during the flood,” he told reporters after visiting the village today. Also present was the foundation’s chief executive officer, Datuk Liew Siong Sing.
The extraordinary high tide in the waters of Kuala Selangor and the high rainfall early this month resulted in floods in the district. However, the situation returned to normal by Dec 19.
