KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 — Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allocated RM20 million for repair of hill slopes in five high-risk areas in the city.
Its executive director (Project Management), Datuk Ir. Tan Keng Chok said they are at the National Archive area, Taman Desa, Jalan Desa Sentosa, Bukit Aman and Jalan Kasah (Medan Damansara).
“DBKL, with the cooperation of the Public Works Institute of Malaysia (IKRAM) and the Public Works Department, is also closely monitoring the affected areas,” he told Bernama.
He said, DBKL, through the Slope Unit, Civil Engineering and Urban Transportation Department, always monitor the affected areas and take into account reports and complaints from residents.
“If landslide occurs on private land, DBKL will issue notice, but if it happens on government land, the slope will be repaired immediately,” he added.
